I will be disabling comments on some [not many] of my posts in the future.
I have become aware that I do write for an audience on occasion and I dont dig that at all.
Sometimes I will be funny. Sometimes I will be boring. Often predictable. Possibly even grumpy. I may even be soppy but I always want to be true to what my blog is about - it's all about me.
And mine. And our [ordinary] lives together. So forgive me, but at times, I will not be inviting comments in a public forum simply because I want to be sure of my motive for each and every post.

Ag, Kirsty - can't take you anywhere :-)
Mel - Gotcha.
it's your party, and you CAN if you want to ;0)
DO YOU ACCEPT DOGS? OR ARE WE OUT?
Ok, I saw farm fresh did this too.
Why dont you just make your blog private and then people request to read and then you can choose who reads your blog?
Mel, I love this idea! I know exactly how you feel---there are some posts that you know/hope will invite conversation and others where, beh, it doesn't matter. I'm down with this, no problem.
Kirsty - LOL, knew I could count on you for some comic relief.
Allie - yep, we have talked bout this ne?
A.W. - Yeah baby!
Bwana &co - you guys always in!
Stef : yup, she has switched comments off altogether; I dont like that idea.
Yvette : The temptation would still be there to write to my 'private audience'. And must say with regard to private blogging? Been there, done that and am happy to have a public blog.
an interesting thought....I know what you mean, sometimes I write something and then think oh hell that is going to provoke all kinds of things so I delete it....and in doing so maybe not being true to myself....hmmmmm...thought provoking.

Not a problem Mel - its your blog so you do what you want.
I love the way you approached this.
I get you completely. I have closed comments occasionally because I want to say my say but I don't necessarily want opinions.
